The experience
Postmen and literati
A 3-day itinerary on the traces of a family that, originating from Val Brembana, has shaped the history of Europe.
Bergamo is located at the meeting point between two valleys: Val Brembana and Val Seriana, both characterized by elements of uniqueness and similarity. This itinerary aims to lead from the upper city, the ancient core of Bergamo surrounded by its walls, now a UNESCO heritage site, towards the Val Brembana. Guiding us on this journey will be a family that has brought prestige to the region: the Tasso family. Famous as literati, they were actually skilled entrepreneurs, credited as inventors of the European postal service. An unprecedented journey to discover the places and the so-called ‘minor branches,’ which hold great surprises and wonders. A journey to discover a family that made its way in Europe from the Renaissance to the modern age, providing the perfect backdrop to accompany a search for one’s family roots today.
